"I do not write...
I just take dictation from the characters..."

"The Captain" is actually a retired Lt. Colonel. She has finally succumed to the
demands of her horses and fencing foil. The primary creator of the Kaicamdrean
Universe, she is also N.I.R.N.'s first fan and ultimate Beta reader. A Kirk
fan...but no one's perfect. A talented artist, she has won awards for her reverse
painting on glass, has illustrated many fanzines and designed playing cards and
jewlery.

Oh, a paragraph about me?? Uhm…well, I’m 6’5” – your typical blonde Amazon – I
have four P.H.D’S, three black belts, two ‘house boys’ and one Ferrari.
Oh, you mean a NON-FICTION paragraph. Oh, okay.
I live on a farm five minutes from the town where Brokeback Mountain was
filmed and yes I went on the set (some friends were crewing on it) and I met
Heath and we compared tattoos. I have one…he has many…on many lovely parts
(not THOSE parts!). I worked in film and t.v. for fifteen (!!!) years on such
American films as ‘The Edge’, ‘Cool Runnings’, ‘Legends of the Fall’ and a bunch of
T.V. movies and T.V. series. I won the National Film Board Award at the 2002
Banff T.V. Festival, have a diploma in Cinema and studied writing with some
pretty iconic Canadian authors like W.O. Mitchell (who was the funniest man I’ve
ever known! Oh, except for actor Gordon Tootoosis whose favorite joke is, ‘What
do women say when they’ve had the best sex of their lives? Thank you, Gordon.
Hahaha…he’s a doll!). I love animals of all stripes, spots, furs and feathers and
have many donkey, horse, dog, cat and cow friends. My hobbies are belly dance,
Egyptology (which is why the movie, ‘The Mummy’ drove me mad! Though it was fun
as a movie it was wrong, wrong, wrong!), zoology (I volunteered at the Calgary
Zoo for six years bathing elephants, walking ferrets, handling snakes and
teaching classes about dinosaurs, bears, elephants and giraffe) art (Mom is a pro
– Diane is definitely amateur!), music (again, Mom pro – daughter not!). I’m
writing screenplays, finishing a polishing rewrite on a novel, starting a children’s
book and hoping I don’t have to get a day job again anytime soon. Gee…I sure like
to talk about myself.

A retired Social Worker after 25 years, I now spend my time working at a
maritime museum and with the large Russian immigrant community in my town. I
have also been a free-lance non-fiction writer for over 35 years. My husband
and I have added 5 more sci-fi fans to this universe and converted 2 foster
children. Designer and administrator of this website, and editor of the "Star
Traveler" fanzine series. Co-creator of the Kaicamdrean Universe and creator
of the N.I.R.N. Universe. Now, if I could only get Andrie and his crew to leave
me alone...!

Diane Doyle
Diane has been a Star Trek fan since 1966 beginning with the broadcast of the
episode, “Space Seed.” Originally, her favorite character was Spock. However, the
addition of the character, Chekov, changed that. She admits to being one of the
legions of teenage girls who loved Chekov. She graduated from the College of
William and Mary in 1975 with a B.S. degree in Mathematics with a Computer
Science option. She has been in the Information Technology field ever since,
designing and implementing software in a variety of different programming
languages, mostly on government contracts. She is happily married, with two
daughters, the elder to graduate from college in May, 2007 and the younger one to
graduate from high school in 2009. She has lived in Northern Virginia since age 13
(coincidentally the age when she also became a Star Trek fan.) She currently lives
in Reston, Virginia. She attended numerous Star Trek conventions in the early 80’s
and had met several of the regular characters; however, convention activity slowed
down after the kids were born.
